Last Friday, The chief Meteorologist Muhammad Riaz addressed to APP. He said this brutal smoggy atmosphere situation is not going to be fine till the next 2 upcoming months i.e November and December, in these two months the density of these smoggy waves can be high or low (especially in the province Punjab) but it is more likely to continue for few more weeks.

Now-a-days, harmful smoggy weather condition’s intensity has decreased and its density has also reduced up to some extent specifically in the day times. But it doesn’t mean recovery in weather.

Moreover Muhammad Riaz said that smoggy weather can only be vanished after the rain. And weather conditions don’t expect rain in coming weeks. And if the rain falls in November or December, it will fall below its average. Thus the smoggy condition will continuously be deteriorating and its density will be higher in the urban areas.

After hearing these worse weather conditions government of Punjab is pondering upon the idea of shutting schools as smog is overcoming the healthy environment and becoming the reason of health hazards and most of the accidents.

According to the health expertise, smog can effect eyes and ears and thus advised to wash them properly to prevent allergies. As per the Rescue 1122 Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service report 17 people lost their lives on the last Friday, those 17 poor souls were the victim of accidents occurred because of the Smog. And also many diseases are raising due to smog.

Social media reported for Friday, two trucks collided because of heavy smog and 2 people died while 5-7 got injured. This incident occurred in Sahiwal near Harrappa.

Commuters and other travelers are advised by Motorway Authority to drive at lower speed, keep vehicle at distance from other vehicles and travel in groups with fog lamps to prevent accidents.

In the coming week light rain is expected near Punjab (also in some areas of Punjab) and Khayber Pakhtunkhwah. This light rain will give slight relief from this cruel weather for sometime.
