Zong to expand 4G network to 1000 more places across Pakistan in 2016

Zong, Pakistan’s first 4G services operator, has announced the expansion plan for 4G services in Pakistan this year. The telecom operator will add 1,000 additional sites across the Pakistan. The news was shared today after the company achieved their 2016 4G roll out plan, 3 months ahead of expected schedule.

Zong has shown an exceptional work out in order to roll out 4G expansion plan in the country. The addition of 1,000 new 4G sites will increase the overall Zong’s 4G sites to around 6,000 by the end of this year, making it Pakistan’s largest, widest and fastest network for 4G services.

Mr. Maham Dard, Director Corporate affairs and Official Spokesperson of the company, said in statement:

“The addition of 1,000 4G sites after meeting our 4G expansion target is a huge milestone for us. It testifies our commitment to provide a stable, affordable and reliable network to our customers. We will continue to invest in 4G technology and continue to improve our services. To provide a faster, wider and deeper data quality experience to the users. We will continue to invest more. And execute more to be able to provide the best quality network to our subscribers.”

Zong’s parent company, China Mobile Communications Corporation — the largest telecommunications company in the world, has given a positive response for additional investment to facilitate the expansion plans. With this additional investment, the total 4G investment of Zong in Pakistan is expected to cross $300 million mark by the end of this year.

“Zong envisions to enable a fully connected environment for Pakistanis. For which we have invested over PKR 220 Billion so far.” Maham Dard further added. ” Digitization is a catalyst for economic growth. We will continue to enable it by leading the data services market of Pakistan.”

It is worth noted that Zong has recently expanded its 4G coverage to over 100 cities across the country and was also designated by PTA as the best telecom operator for voice and data services in Pakistan. The expansion plan shows a strong indicator of Zong’s long term commitment to the local telecommunication market.
