Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to resume its old routes from Islamabad to Kuala Lampur and Barcelona starting from next month, revealed by PIA’s official representative Danyal Gilani on micro-blogging website Twitter.
This shows a strong commitment by the national carrier to expand its network across the globe. In past few months, along with this, PIA took drastic measures to revise the company’s image as an international brand. Couple of days back, it was also reported that the company is planning to lease twelve more aircrafts to expand its services to other regions.
Danyal Gilani broke the news on Twitter with following tweets:

PIA has assigned top priority to revise its old routes in near future as they believed that it will revise the organization’s reputation. PIA has startred advertisement in local newspapers to attract short and long term leases for wide-body aircraft.
A month ago, Pakistan International Airlines announced to revive its Bangkok, Barcelona & Germany long lost routes, while upgrading the network to Saudi Arabia and Dubai, Bernd Hildenbrand. So, current decision is in sync with the company policy to revise old routes.
The government has taken keen interest in PIA privatization since the first day. However, due to huge opposition by the staff and several key political members, the privatization project has come to a halt.
