If you are programmer, coder, engineer, or developer, you must know that organizing your resume isn’t always easy especially the way technology is growing and companies are demanding high skills. Stack Overflow is going to make your life a little easier by introducing a new tool called Developer Stories — a kind of technical resume based on your activities on world’s top question / answer website.
The new feature will help programmers and software developers gain attention of millions of active recruiters on Stack Overflow platform.
Stack Overflow is a community-driven platform that encourages discussion among the users over questions related to software development, computer programming, science, mathematics etc. It also offers job hunting service to developers as well as other community members.
Developer Stories are different from a traditional resume by providing two basic views: a normal resume and a timeline. The timeline view is intended to highlight achievements, skills, languages learned, and projects you’ve completed or contributed to. Off course, it is Stack Overflow, so you can also highlight any questions you’ve answered on the site.
It supports multimedia embedding too, so videos embed right in the resume and images look good too, you can see a sample over the Stack Overflow blog.
Altogether, it should be a little easier to present what you’ve learnt, what you’ve created, and why that matters to begin with a new job post.
