Police To Trace Smartphone Calls Through 4G Locators In Sindh

As I have earlier discussed in my posts about the crime rate in Pakistan which is touching its peak, whether its day time or the wee hours of night, people are being robbed on gun points. If we mold this particular scene into a funnel, we can specifically say that terrorism is high in Sindh. Sindh government it working on the betterment of the province and trying to clean it from bad cats, like recently Sindh Government Released Software That Can Help To Recover Stolen Phones, and now new effort is being showed in the ground that is the 4G Phone Locator Technology.

Do you have even a slightest idea what this technology is about? Well its name also says it all. In order cope up with the terrorism thing, Sindh took this initiative. The Sindh Police’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has gotten a latest 4G phone locator system. The multi-million rupee 4G phone tracing technology is somewhat a latest thing to make use of by the intelligence agencies. Sindh Police has lastly attained it and handed it over to CTD to put it at clearance of the police department. This caller locator will be enabling police investigators to find out the exact location from where a mobile phone call was or is being made. This will be specifically helpful in cases of intimidation, extortion, coercion, terrorism, ransom, kidnapping, etc. Few word are recorded by a police source which are,

“In fact, the Sindh police have acquired two 4G mobile phone call locators, which have been handed over to the CTD for use in the entire province….The CTD SSP has been appointed the focal person for the entire department who could be approached by any unit of the Karachi police with a request for the use of the system.

CTD officials have undergone training in the use of the equipment. Whenever they receive a request from any unit or section of the law-enforcement agency, they move with the equipment to the required location to offer the service. The sets acquired by the police have been locally designed and developed. They have been effectively used for tracing criminals and kidnappers in the interior of Sindh where several groups were busted using the technology.”

This technology is being used by the police and whole of their department fpr more than two years, but this one is more advanced and up to the date which can easily track the smartphone communications. The preceding phone locators which were being used by Sindh Police Department were proficient enough in meeting requirements of 2G and 3G only. The latest equipment will improve investigation capabilities.
